Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes School exists to provide excellence in Catholic education while inspiring and empowering our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. As compassionate and faithful Christians, we continue to pursue our spiritual journey, achieve our highest academic potential, and be stewards of the Catholic faith to others.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
I would like to thank everyone again for making Oktoberfest such a great weekend. Our school benefits completely from the event and we are all grateful for the help and support. I received an email over the weekend from a parent who has a child that is not of school age yet who attended Oktoberfest. The parent said her family was "really impressed with the quality of kids and the volunteers and parents supporting and serving the school." I realize how great the support for our school is but it is assuring to hear someone from outside the community state how impressed they are with Saint Agnes! Who knows, maybe they will be part of the community soon! ~ Mr. Hoyt
Out of Uniform Friday for Family Raffle Ticket Sales: Remember that if your family sold at least four raffle tickets for Oktoberfest each student in the family gets to be out of uniform on Friday, Oct. 5.
Dismissal Reminders: Parents, it is apparent that there are car riders that are being picked up in alternate places around our school. Please follow all of our dismissal procedures to ensure everyone's safety. Should a student have to be picked up immediately after dismissal it is expected that the parent/driver pick the student up at the main office and walk them to their parking spot. Please adhere to the car line procedures otherwise at all times.
5th Grade Academic Team: There will be an informational meeting Friday, October 5, for all students interested in joining the 5th Grade Academic Team. We will have signups for the team and discuss the schedule for matches and practices. Meet in the Music Room right after school until 3 p.m. Parents, we will also be looking for persons willing to organize/provide snacks, help out during practices, and coordinate rides to away matches on Thursdays. Our first team practice is Monday, October 8, until 4 p.m.
Junior High Monster Mash Dance: On Friday, October 19, there will be a Junior High dance for Saint Agnes Junior High 6th-8th grade students only. The dance will be held at the Dicoesan Children’s Home shelter area from 7-9:30 p.m. The cost is $5.00. Proceeds made from the dance will go to the Diocesan Children’s Home. Tickets will be sold at school beginning Tuesday, October 2. A signed permission slip must accompany ticket purchase. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Flyers were sent home with junior high students last week. If you have other questions feel free to contact Mrs. Turner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lifetouch School Pictures: Picture day is Thursday, October 18. Order forms are going home today through kidmail so be on the lookout.
Saint Agnes Spirit Wear: If you want to purchase spirit wear items that were sold at Oktoberfest, you can send a check (made to Saint Agnes PTO) with a note of the item(s) and sizes through kid-mail to: Lizzie Lonnemann / 3Hill. Items will be returned through kidmail the next day. Be sure to include your contact information as well as the name and homeroom of where to send the item(s). If you have questions, contact Stephanie Lonnemann (email@example.com)
Service Hours Log Reminder: Parents, with Oktoberfest and other volunteer opportunities that have already occurred, please remember to log your service hours on Sycamore. All students whose families have at least five service hours logged by the end of the first quarter, October 26, will have a spirit wear day on November 15.
Cafeteria: Attached here is the school lunch menu for October. It is also available on the school website.
Big Blue Bash: All parents are invited to the kick-off meeting to start planning this year's Big Blue Bash! The meeting will take place Wednesday, October 17, at 7 p.m. in the school library. Please join us for this informational meeting to learn more about our PTO's largest fundraiser. The Big Blue Bash is a fun night that takes place every year in the spring and includes dinner, drinks, dancing, raffles, and auctions. Proceeds from this event help fund operating expenses for our school, enrichment programs for our students, and classroom needs for our teachers and staff at Saint Agnes. We have several volunteer opportunities available and would love to have fresh ideas and input! We hope to see you there! If you have questions or would like more information please contact the BBB committee at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our Facebook page www.facebook.com/saintagnesbigbluebash.
Saint Agnes / Coerver Soccer Clinic: Join us on Sunday, October 7, with coach Sam Fiore and staff of Coerver Ohio, along with Saint Agnes coaches, for a technical soccer practice to benefit our soccer program. Coerver® Coaching is a global football coaching program inspired by the teachings of Wiel Coerver and created in 1984 by Alfred Galustian and Chelsea great Charlie Cooke. Coerver Camps are a specific copyrighted soccer skills teaching method suited for all ages, but especially for players aged 6-14 years old. The teaching method focuses on Individual skills development and small group play and is endorsed and recommended by many top federations, associations, club teams and legends/experts of the game. Please register your child for the level they are currently playing at. Space per age group is limited due to the individual focus of the training. We are currently accepting registration for U8 girls and U10 boys/girls. To register click here.
Saint Agnes Youth Group: Mark your calendars with the October dates. Youth group will meet on October 14 and 28 from 5-7 p.m. Meetings are held in the school cafeteria and involve fun, food, fellowship, and faith building. The Halloween party will occur October 28! Come join the fun!
Oktoberfest Lost and Found: Many items (coats, sweatshirts, cell phones, etc.) were found at Oktoberfest. If you lost something contact Annette Ward 859-760-6341 or email email@example.com and we will see if we have it. Thanks.
