Picture Re-takes: School pictures are coming home today. We have a re-take day set for Tuesday, November 16 at 12:30. If you want your child’s pictures re-taken, please return the pictures being sent home today to school in the original packaging. These will be given to the photographer at the time of the re-takes.
Remember: Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 23. Students will be dismissed from school that Tuesday at 11:00. Conferences begin at noon until 5 pm and again from 6 to 8 pm. The teachers have a dinner hour from 5 to 6 which we ask you to honor. The teachers of the younger children will make a schedule of appointments to accommodate everyone. Teachers in grades 5 through 8 will be in the cafeteria or the gym with unscheduled conferences, so you can stop and visit specific teachers you may want to see according to subject matter. We ask that students in grades 5 through 8 to be present at the conferences, for they are an integral part of success in their learning. Students will not have school on November 24th.
Vespers at St. Agnes: On Saturday evening, November 27, 2010 at 7:30 pm, Bishop Foys has invited all the diocese to join him for a vigil for all nascent (beginning of) human life. Pope Benedict has asked that this vigil coincide with the first vespers for the First Sunday of Advent. This celebration will involve all the Catholic Schools in our diocese and will be held here at St. Agnes Church. Every Catholic School must provide one student from each grade level (1 – 8) for the procession during this vespers. If your child would like to be part of this vespers, please e-mail me. We need to send the names of the students to the diocese no later than Wednesday, November 10th, so they can be added to the brochure. Please email me (lgroh@saintagnes.com) if your child can participate. If we have more than one per grade level, we will choose one. Remember it is during the Thanksgiving holidays, so I know some will be out of town. I appreciate your help with this project.
Ink and Toner Recycling: THANK YOU to the families who have been sending in their ink and toner cartridges! We have a few families who save them at work and also bring those in, and we received a credit of $408 for the first quarter’s recycling. That money is used to buy additional ink/toner for the school, and that is a fantastic savings for us! Please continue to send in any empty ink and toner cartridges from home or work to the computer lab so that we can recycle them. (No Xerox or Epson cartridges, please.) Thanks! Monica Wainscott
