Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes School exists to provide excellence in Catholic education while inspiring and empowering our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. As compassionate and faithful Christians, we continue to pursue our spiritual journey, achieve our highest academic potential, and be stewards of the Catholic faith to others.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We had a wonderful First Sacrament of Reconciliation for our second grade students last evening. During our Back-to-School Night at the beginning of the year I referenced a book titled The Gift of Failure and I discussed how important it is for our students to fail often so they feel the sense of accomplishment more when they do succeed. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a great analogy to the gift of failure. We are all human and we are all bound to fail. Like responding to the adversity of failing, the commitment to go to confession and follow through with out penance displays our willingness to respond to our failures of sin. We grow in these opportunities. I was proud to see the faces on these young people when they responded to the adversity of sin through the sacrament. ~ Mr. Hoyt
Advent 2018: We will be celebrating Advent at school in several ways. We will begin with a prayer service Monday morning, December 3, at 8 a.m. in the gym. All are welcome! The homerooms will have an Advent wreath displayed and special prayers will be said on the announcements daily. Our current school theme is to SHINE in our community, so our Advent projects will support the theme. During the weeks of December 3 and December 10 we will collect for the Northern Kentucky Emergency Shelter. Students are encouraged to bring boxes of breakfast cereal, snacks such as peanut butter crackers, granola bars, energy bars, toothbrushes, travel sized toothpaste and deodorant, and men’s and women’s hats and gloves. Please have all donations in by Friday, December 14, to allow time for delivery. We will have an out-of-uniform day on Friday, December 7, to benefit the Diocesan Catholic Children's Home. At least $1 is required, but more is encouraged. Have a blessed Advent season and a Merry Christmas!
