Happy Teacher Appreciation Week: Happy teacher appreciation week to all of our phenomenal teachers at Saint Agnes! We believe we have the best faculty around! Please be sure to "thank" your teachers throughout this week!

Saint Agnes Book Fair: Our spring book fair is going to be held in the library May 11– 19 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day! The theme is “Explore Book Fair Wilderness: Get Lost in a BOOK.”

We are especially fortunate to have an author visit for 4th – 8th graders Monday, May 8.  Dan Gemeinhart, a middle school author from Washington, is coming to showcase his three books: The Honest Truth, Some Kind of Courage, and Scar Island.  If your students would like to purchase a paper back copy of The  Honest Truth and Scar Island ($6.99/each) before Monday, please send the form or a note along with your payment, and Dan will sign the books after his presentation. Dan will only be signing his books.

If anyone has some time and would like to help us navigate the safari of books, please email KIM BROOKING at Let your imagination run wild as you help your campers thumb through an exciting new adventure!!  ~ Wildly, Queen of the Jungle Bergs and Safari Guides.

Summer Math Program: Saint Agnes School will participate in a summer learning program for second through eighth grade students. Our staff has focused our efforts this year to improve our math skills.  Many of you have heard of our Response to Intervention (RTI) program that your child may have participated in, and to keep up with the strides made in this program we are going to introduce the students to Khan Academy. Today in kid mail a letter and step-by-step enrollment packet will be coming home with current second through fourth grades. First, fifth and junior high students will be added in days to come. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Jacobs at

Lunch 'n Learns: The LAST Lunch 'n Learn is May 8! Please help us by providing lunch for the teachers during their monthly Lunch 'n Learns. What are Lunch 'n Learns? Saint Agnes Computer/Technology Coordinator and Guru, Christina Woolley, will be holding monthly meetings during lunch to keep teachers updated on the latest technology trends. There are about 30-35 teachers in all. We are asking for (at least) two volunteers for each category of food listed. The food would need to be delivered to school by 10:30 a.m. the morning of the scheduled meeting. Thank you!!1655628/false/false

Drug Free Week: May 8-11 will be Drug-Free Week for students in grades 5-8.  This program will include one short activity each day to promote healthy habits and educate students about the dangers of drug use. The week’s activities are taken from the National Family Partnership Red Ribbon Campaign and include:
May 8: Drug-Free fact sheet handed out to students and discussed in class. Students will be encouraged to take home this fact sheet about how drugs affect the human  body so it may be further discussed with parents.
May 9: In class, students will brainstorm ways kids can avoid drugs by forming healthy habits now. Each grade level will create a poster with these brainstormed healthy habits called, “My Anti-Drug Is…” These posters will be on display in the hallways.
May 10: The Ft. Wright Police Department will give presentations to students in the gym.
May 11: Students will sign a Drug-Free pledge to celebrate their healthy choices. Students may also wear red shirts on this day with whatever regular uniform bottoms they would ordinarily wear on Thursdays.
