Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes School exists to provide excellence in Catholic education while inspiring and empowering our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. As compassionate and faithful Christians, we continue to pursue our spiritual journey, achieve our highest academic potential, and be stewards of the Catholic faith to others.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
One of our school’s most important fund raisers of the year, the Big Blue Bash, occurs Friday evening. I cannot thank all of the volunteers who have put countless hours into the planning of the event. The event is coordinated by PTO members and plays a large role in the PTO’s contribution to our school’s annual operating budget. The committee is still in need of volunteers who are attending the event.
On another note, I would like to encourage all community members who are available to attend our 8th grade’s annual presentation of the Passion Play this Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Saint Agnes Church. This is always a very moving spiritual experience as we near the Easter Triduum. ~ Mr. Hoyt
Lenten Almsgiving: Tomorrow, March 22, is our last collection day for Uganda. We have reached our goal to send five students to St. Julie's School in Uganda. All other money collected will go towards books for the St. Julie School. Thank you for your generosity and we will have have a final total for you next week.
Spirit Wear Day March 22: Tomorrow, March 22, will be a spirit wear day!
Easter/Spring Break: Please remember that school will be closed from next Thursday, March 29, through Friday, April 6. School will resume on Monday, April 9.
Steve Smith Internet Safety Presentation for Parents: Steve Smith will be coming to Saint Agnes on April 12 to present “Social Media: Your Digital Tattoo.” Mr. Smith has come to Saint Agnes before, most recently last year to speak with our 4th-8th graders, to discuss the latest trends and the impact that the internet and social media can have on people. Our 4th-8th graders will again hear from Mr. Smith. This year Mr. Smith will also present to our parents. It is extremely important that our parents attend this informative presentation. The students of parents who attend the presentation will receive an out-of-uniform pass. The parent presentation will occur on April 12 at 7 p.m. in Murphy Hall. For more information about Mr. Smith and his presentations go to his website www.awiredfamily.org.
Lunch 'n Learn: The next Lunch 'n Learn for our faculty is April 10. Please help us by providing sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts. These monthly meetings help our teachers stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends. There are about 30-35 teachers in all. The food would need to be delivered to school by 10:30 a.m. the morning of the scheduled meeting. Thank you for your help! http://signup.com/go/dNPRcdJ
