Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes Elementary School strives for excellence in providing a Catholic education that inspires and empowers our students to embrace the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ as compassionate and faithful Christians, who continue to pursue their spiritual journey, their highest academic potential, and stewardship to others.
Lent: We are in the first full week of Lent. Are we keeping the Lenten promises we made on Ash Wednesday? Have you picked out a pair of good used shoes, boots, slippers or footwear for those who need them and started thinking of a story that could go with them for our project, “Unless You Have Walked in my Shoes…”?
Friday – Make-Up Snow Day: Remember, we will have school this Friday. It is a snow make-up day!
Testing Week: Students in the kindergarten classes and in grades three through seven are taking the IOWA Test of Basic Skills this week and next week. Please make sure students are getting enough sleep and a healthy breakfast each day. We want them to do the best on the test!
Healthy Challenge Week: Remind your children to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day this week, and to complete the chart and send in the charts at the end of seven days. Prizes are given from the Health Department for the school with the biggest percentage of students participating.
Kids on the Block: The program will be given to students in grades K through 4 on Thursday.
Wildcat Rewards: This Thursday will be wildcat rewards for students for the third quarter. If students have had no uniform marks on their card in the third quarter, they may be out of uniform on Thursday.
St. Patrick’s Day: The color of the day is green. Students may wear green accessories with their uniforms (unless they are out of uniform for the wildcat reward.)
Fifth Grade Regional Governor’s Cup Competition: On Saturday, St. Agnes will host the Fifth Grade Regional Governor’s Cup Competition. Thanks, PTO, for helping us sponsor this! Good luck to our fifth grade team!!
Bowling: Tuesday, March 22, we are going bowling! This was rescheduled from the snowy day in January during Catholic School Week. We have the permissions from January. The schedule is the same. If you can help chaperone, call Brandy Franxman. Come join us if you can.
Spring Musical: Mark your calendars for March 24th . The students in grades four, five and six will have their spring musical, and I hear we are in for a real treat. You won’t want to miss it.

Last year we earned almost $3000 for our school and all it will take is 15 to 30 minutes of your time on TUESDAY, APRIL 12th to try a snack or some cleaning products. This is during spring break, so if you will be in town I am hoping you decide to participate since we will need your help more than ever! If you have questions, feel free to call me at 859.816.0929 or e-mail rene.cooper@hotmail.com. We missed the fall session, so PLEASE help our school earn the maximum amount of money for the product survey. The survey will be held in half hour increments from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. When you commit, please let me know what time you will be coming on the half hour. Thanks in advance for your help. Our school will benefit!!
