Thursday – Heat Emergency in the Building – Dismiss at 1:00
Friday ~ Last Day ~ School Dismisses at 11:00

Thanks….for another wonderful school year!!!

I don’t know where the school year went…but the calendar says we are finished for the year. I just want to say thank you from the faculty and staff at St. Agnes School. As we count our blessings for the school year, there are many, and you parents are certainly at the top of the list, right after the students. Have a great summer. Keep learning going in your homes, but relax and enjoy each day.
The school office hours are 9 to 1 on Monday through Thursday in June and August. We are closed most of July. Sometimes I will be the only one here, and could be around the school and away from the office, but if you email me or call, I will be available for you.
Next year our school hours will be 7:45 to 2:45. We are adding 15 minutes and lessening our homeroom times, in order to have some spare days in our calendar for snow days.
Again, have a great summer…..God’s blessings on each of us…..Thank you!!!

No Uniforms on Friday: Students do not have to wear uniforms on Friday….but remember….we are going to church. Gym shorts, or respectful shorts and tops are allowed.

Lost and Found: We have items, sweatshirts, hats, jackets, etc. If your child is missing something, tell them to check our lost and found, or you are welcome to come and check. Items left will be given to the neighboring shelters.

Report Cards: Don’t forget to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope for your child’s report card. Final report cards will be mailed to your homes on June 5th.

Money Owed: Please have all money owed (tuition, cafeteria, bus, and book fines) taken care of by Friday. Report cards will not be sent until owed money is paid. 2011-2012 School Information: Here is our most current information for next school year.

End of Year Parent Survey: This is a reminder to please fill out the end of the year survey if you have not already done so. The survey will close this weekend. All parents of students in kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to participate in the on-line survey, providing important feedback about St. Agnes School and academic programs to your School Board and Administrators. This year the survey also provides data required for the Kentucky Non-Public School Accreditation process, so your prompt responses are more important than ever. The survey may be found at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/StAgnesParentSurveyMay2011.

Help, Help, Help Needed: Mr. Walt Witt needs help replacing the new missalettes in church before Pentecost. This is a task that our seventh graders have done as the missalettes need changing throughout the school year…Advent, Lent, etc. Many hands make the task light. He is asking for some helpers to meet him in church on Thursday, June 16th, at 9:30 to help change the missalettes. Please consider helping, and bring a friend. Parents, friends, students in any grade can help. It would be a good activity before going to the pool that day. Thank you so much!!!!

PTO News:

MANY, MANY THANKS….to everyone for all the support for the PTO again this year! We have had another great year and could not have done it without all the support!! So many people were willing to give “Time Talent and Treasures.” This is indeed what St. Agnes is about! I personally thank you for a great year; it makes the role of president easy! I am proud to hand this great school PTO over to Tami Kluemper and Mr. Paul Kleier as your PTO President and Vice-President for the 2011-2012 school year!! Have a wonderful summer! See you in the fall!! Heather Teller

Magazine Drive Update: Please think of St Agnes School when those early magazine renewal notices start to arrive in the mail! You can renew current subscriptions or buy new and gift subscriptions through our school this fall. A substantial portion of the subscription price stays at our school to fund many needed items and activities throughout the year. If we can count on your support this year, we are sure to have a successful campaign! This fall, we are excited to announce our new Family Rewards Program! If you have multiple children at St Agnes, each subscription your family sells will count for ALL your children. No more trying to decide who will get credit! Click here for a flyer with order information. Thank you!

Boosters News:

Fall Soccer Registration: Registrations will be accepted May 31, 2011 through July 15, 2011. There will be no in-person registration. Unfortunately, NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER July 15, 2011 and there will be NO EXCEPTIONS! Please click here for the registration form. Thank you.

RCIA at Saint Agnes: The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a promulgated rite of the church which guides the conversion of non-believers to faith in Jesus Christ culminating in the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Our RCIA process also serves baptized Catholics not raised in the faith, and non-Catholic Christians seeking to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.
In the coming year, the catechetical sessions of the RCIA process will be offered on Sunday mornings, between the 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. masses, rather than Tuesday evenings. We hope that this new time period will make it easier for people to participate in the RCIA process. We are also trying to transition to an RCIA process which is on-going throughout the year, which will make it possible to more fully implement the vision of the RCIA.
If you or someone you know might benefit from the RCIA process here at Saint Agnes, please contact Bob Gerth at 431-1802 or bgerth@saintagnes.com  for more information. We are planning to offer some “inquiry/precatechumenate” sessions after the July 4th holiday.
