Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes School exists to provide excellence in Catholic education while inspiring and empowering our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. As compassionate and faithful Christians, we continue to pursue our spiritual journey, achieve our highest academic potential, and be stewards of the Catholic faith to others.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Happy Catholic Schools Week! I hope you share in my gratitude for the gift of Catholic Schools. This week is always a good personal reminder of the impact a Catholic school made on my life. It was at Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis that I learned what faith was, a gift that ultimately led me to join the Church. The theme for Catholic Schools Week this year is “Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” As I told our students at our CSW prayer service Monday morning, if we can successfully learn to do those first three things – lead, serve, and learn – we will ultimately succeed.
I invite all of our parents, community, and prospective parents to attend our Catholic Schools Week Showcase Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. to see the wonderful things going on at Saint Agnes and to celebrate our Catholic school! ~ Mr. Hoyt
Catholic Schools Week: Thank you to all the volunteers and teachers who have worked hard in the planning of this year's Catholic Schools Week. We still have a few activities planned this week. Click here for a detailed list of information.
Early Dismissal Friday: Please remember we will dismiss at 11 a.m. this Friday, February 2.
School Mass 8 a.m. This Friday: Our weekly school Mass will occur at 8 a.m. this Friday, February 2. This time change is to accommodate our 8th grade vs. Faculty Volleyball match that will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the gym.
Student Absences: With the many illnesses going around this serves as a reminder for parents to be sure to call the school office (not just the teachers) when a child is out sick or going to be late. Please remember that students should also be symptom-free of their illnesses for 24 hours before returning to school.
Late Start Next Wednesday: Please remember next Wednesday, February 7, is a late-start day. The school day will begin at 8:45 a.m.
New Immunization Guidelines: Last week you received a letter from the Kentucky Department of Health. Effective for the 2018-19 school year, all students must show proof of receiving two doses of the Hepatitus A to attend school. What does this mean for our Saint Agnes parents? Please ask your health care provider about this and you will need to provide an immunization form showing the two doses of Hepatitus A vaccine. This applies to ALL students in grades K-8. We are trying to let you know in plenty of time in case you need to schedule a check up with your doctor. New immunization forms are due on the first day of school in August 2018, but you can send them in anytime between now and then. Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, contact Mindy Sucher in the office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Junior High Dance: Students in grades 6-8 are invited to our "Dance Your Heart Out" dance. It will occur on Friday, February 9, and is for Saint Agnes 6th-8th grade students only. The dance will be held in Murphy Hall from 7-9:30 p.m. The cost is $5. Proceeds from the dance will go to the American Heart Association. Tickets will be sold at school beginning Monday, Jan. 29. A signed permission slip must accompany ticket purchase. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Turner at email@example.com.
