Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes Elementary School strives for excellence in providing a Catholic education that inspires and empowers our students to embrace the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ as compassionate and faithful Christians, who continue to pursue their spiritual journey, their highest academic potential, and stewardship to others.

Congratulations to our MathCounts Team: The team competed at NKY on Saturday. We do not have the group score yet, but Kelsey Sucher, a seventh grader, is eligible to attend the state MathCount Meet as a result of her individual scores. Great job, everyone!

Spiritwear Day Tomorrow: Students may wear a St. Agnes spiritwear shirt/sweatshirt with gym uniform pants/shorts or regular uniform pants/shorts tomorrow.

Next Week’s Newsletter: Next week’s newsletter will be sent on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Please have any information for the newsletter to Mrs. Wainscott by Monday at 2:00. Thank you!

After School Traffic: About ten years ago, our parking lot after school was an accident waiting to happen. We rang the bell and students ran out of the school and ran to their cars in the church lot, and parents drove off. We hoped no one would get in front of a moving car, or get hurt. It is beginning to get dangerous at dismissal again at St. Agnes.
Parents, if you pick up your children in a car after school, please follow the car rider rules. Students who are car riders, wait in the gym area and cars line up in the church lot and come down Molloy Drive in single file. On a good day the whole dismissal could take ten minutes; if students aren’t alert or watching for their cars, maybe twenty. We are always finished in the car line at 3:00. Please do not tell your children to go out as walkers and meet you on the other side of church, in front of church, on another street, down the road, or across the street at the motel. These are not safe places; there is no supervision at these places. All car riders should leave the school from the gym area.
Walkers are students who leave the school and walk all the way home.
Parents who pick up children in the car line should pull up all the way to the last set of steps by the convent. If your child is not there and ready, please pull over by the garages so that cars can pass you, or go around the line again. Do not pass cars unless they are on the side by the garages. We will do our best to keep the children more alert and watching for their cars, so the process can move swiftly. Thank you for your cooperation in this endeavor. Safety is first!

March Lunch Calendar: The March lunch and volunteer calendar is available online. We are in need of volunteers on many days. If you are available and would like to volunteer, please contact Mary Fischer at cafeteria@saintagnes.com.  Thank you!

Save the Date: St Agnes Jr. High will be performing in the play "Mirror Image" on April 1 and 2 at 7:30 pm. Performances will be held at NDA Theatre. Tickets will go on sale in mid March. Save the date...thank you!

Capital Campaign:  Last Sunday, in the bulletin and at all of the Masses, it was announced that we had received permission from Bishop Foys to conduct the capital campaign that we did the feasability study for last Fall, and that we have been working toward for over three years. We have set May 22 as the date for the campaign finale.
Our Campaign Coordinators Committee has been working hard to get the leadership and committees of our campaign organized. Many of you may be called upon to help in some way with the campaign itself. Please be open to giving this your every consideration. Many have already given a great deal of time and effort to this campaign. The preparations to this point could hardly have been done better. We all will have to pull together to make this campaign a success. I think it is helpful to always remember that in the end, it is not about the money. It is about our parish and its ministries, which of course includes our school and the families our school serves. –Fr. Mark Keene

Around Our School

From Mrs. Turner: I overheard two kindergarten boys talking about church. The one boy said he didn’t like church because his mom and dad get a treat and he doesn’t. The other boy said, “Yeah, they get a snack that is no fair.” I asked what treat/snack their parents got that they didn’t and they responded, “I don’t know what it is but they get in line and get something to eat and drink.” Too funny!

Thank you from P.J. Berling: Thank you to all of the St. Agnes staff, teachers and school families for your thoughtful notes of congratulations on my Citizenship. It was a wonderful ceremony. I am proud to be part of this great country and the St. Agnes community. God bless America. PJ Berling
