Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes School exists to provide excellence in Catholic education while inspiring and empowering our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. As compassionate and faithful Christians, we continue to pursue our spiritual journey, achieve our highest academic potential, and be stewards of the Catholic faith to others.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
I would like to thank our entire community for your generosity during this Advent season! We have dozens of boxes of items that are going to be dropped off to the Northern Kentucky Emergency Shelter this afternoon that you contributed to our collections. We have also contributed a check for $1,052 and dozens of gifts from our Secret Santa Shop to the Diocesan Catholic Childrens' Home. We have had a wonderful celebration of our Advent season. We are all very fortunate to be part of a wonderful school community at Saint Agnes! I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! ~ Mr. Hoyt
Spirit Wear Day Tomorrow: Tomorrow is a spirit wear day. In addition to Saint Agnes spirit wear, students may wear any Christmas-themed shirts with their uniforms, which may include gym sweatpants and gym shorts with leggings for girls. Christmas accessories may also be worn by students during the day unless teachers deem them a distraction in the classroom.
Christmas Break: Our Christmas break will begin with an 11 a.m. dismissal on Friday, December 21. School will resume on Monday, January 7.
Saint Agnes Christmas Shop: All classes have been scheduled to visit the Saint Agnes Secret Santa Shop this week. If your child's class already shopped and your child was sick or forgot their money, they will have a chance to go on Thursday. Send them with their money on Thursday and we will make sure they visit the Secret Santa Shop. If you would like to volunteer please use the link to sign up. If you have any questions please email Stacey Moorhead at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Late Start Wednesday after Break: We will have a late-start day on Wednesday, January 9. School will begin at 8:45 a.m. This is the first Wednesday after we return from our Christmas break.
School Wildcast: The next Wildcast show is ready for viewing. Lots of work goes into making these fun episodes. You can view it here.
December is an Open Virtus Month: December is an open month for Virtus users. This is a great time for all who may be behind in reading their bulletins to get caught up. Remember that all adults who work with the youth in our parish and Diocese must be Virtus-compliant.
Girls Fast-Pitch Softball: We are looking for girls interested in playing fast-pitch softball in the spring. Registration for softball begins in February 2019 but plans are being made for the season. Saint Agnes teams would play in the NKYA league. NKYA is a recreational softball league for girls ranging in age from 7 to 13. Here is a breakdown of potential teams Saint Agnes could have:
8U Machine Pitch - 7 and 8 year olds
10U Modified Kid Pitch - 9 and 10 year olds
13U - 11, 12, and 13 year olds
Practices at Saint Agnes would begin in the beginning of April and games at Richardson Road Park in Independence would begin at the end of April and continue into July. If your daughter might be interested, or if you have questions, please contact Lori Delaney lori.delaney@*cchmc.org. Again, this is not official registration. We are just trying to figure out if we will have enough girls for a team.
Notre Dame Future Pandas: The NDA Basketball team invites all grade school girls to come and see them play on Saturday, December 22. Cheer on the Basketball Pandas as they take on Bishop Brossart beginning with the freshmen game at 3 p.m., followed by junior varsity at 4:30 p.m., and varsity at 6 p.m. It will be an evening of food, fun and prizes. Don't forget to wear your grade school spirit wear for free admission to the games!
