     The school bus schedule on Monday, April 11 is changed. The morning bus drivers will be Dan and Dee and the runs will be normal. The afternoon bus trips will change. Dan Lange will be the only bus driver in the afternoon on Monday, April 11. He will make two trips. The first trip will be all the students on his normal run who are here at school, plus the students on Mt. Vernon and Beaumont. On the second trip, he will pick up all the students that are left and deliver them safely home. Note that the time your child arrives home on Monday may not be the same as usual. Thank you.

Spring Break: There will be no school on Tuesday through Friday. Enjoy the spring break!

Passion Play: Join us for the passion play on Friday at 1:30 in church. Eight grade students are performing this unique drama. You will not want to miss it. It will put you in the spirit of Holy Week and what happened on those special days.

8th Grade Reminder: Camp Joy is Monday, April 18th. Read the details for the trip carefully. Don’t forget your lunch on Monday.
     The money for the 8th grade tee-shirts is due to Mrs. Dwyer by Friday, April 8th. The tee-shirts are optional; no late orders will be accepted.

Financial Assistance for 2011-2012: Financial assistance forms are available now for the 2011 – 2012 school year. If you would like a form, please email or call the school office. All financial request forms must be in the office by June 1, so our available funds can be allocated for the next school year. Do not wait to request the forms. Thank you.

FACTS Payment Plan Registration: FACTS tuition information is coming home today with your youngest school age child. Please look for the envelope and read the letter and tuition information for next year carefully. The tuition increase is 2% for next school year. Thank you to the finance committee, the business manager, Father Keene, and all involved for keeping it to simply a 2% increase.
     For FACTS, EVERY FAMILY must re-register this year for their preferred payment plan. All registrations must be done online by going to https://online.factsmgt.com/Tmg/public/AgreementSignup.aspx?t=3DG1M&siv=y  and going through the setup steps. It is very easy, and takes less than 5 minutes. Please sign up today so that you don’t forget to do it. You can choose to pay in 1 payment, 2 payments, or monthly via checking account, credit card (additional fee applies), or by monthly invoice.

2. Click under “New User” – Get Started.
3. Enter the name(s) of EACH of your students at St. Agnes for the 2011-2012 school year, and their grade level for next year.
4. Select your payment choice
a. 2 payments (due in September and January)
b. 11 Monthly payments via checking account or credit card
c. 11 Monthly payments via invoice
d. Full payment via checking or credit card due in September
5. Set up day of payments, personal information, banking information
6. Review and submit your registration.

Board of Education News:

Service Hours: Thanks for volunteering! Please remember to update your hours in the school website, My Service Hours. May 31 is the last day to record service hours for this school year. If you still need hours, some opportunities are to volunteer as a T-ball coach (contact Joe Michels), the Wildcat Bash (Lisa Horney or Joelle Michels), the upcoming PTO product survey (Renee Cooper), help with Market Day (Heather Mast), or help with summer bible school (Anita Dunn). A web site option has been added for volunteer work on the capital campaign which can now be logged in. Any questions, contact Dorothy Hafertepen.

Board of Education Openings: The St. Agnes Catholic Board of Education will have three openings for service starting in July/August, 2011. These are three-year terms and the board oversees educational activities related to the school and parish. Interested applicants are invited to the May 10, 2011, meeting of the board at 7:00 pm in the school library. For questions, contact Board President Todd Berling.

PTO News:

Volunteers Needed for the Product Survey April 12th: Thanks to everyone who responded but we still need a lot of volunteers as there are only have 30 people confirmed. Please e-mail rene.cooper@hotmail.com  if you would be available for 15 to 30 minutes on the evening of Tuesday, April 12th to take a product survey. Last year we earned almost $3000 for our school. The amount of money we earn depends on the number of volunteers who take the survey. This is during spring break, so if you will be in town I am hoping you decide to participate since we will need your help more than ever! If you have questions, feel free to call me at 859.816.0929 or e-mail rene.cooper@hotmail.com.  The survey will be held in half hour increments from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Murphy Hall but my greatest need is at 6:30, 7 and 7:30. When you commit, please let me know what time you will be coming on the half hour. Thanks in advance for your help. Our school will benefit!!

PTO Vice President Needed! We are currently seeking a vice -president for the 2011-2012 school year. PTO plays such a huge role in our school support; please consider volunteering to help. Paper Retriever Recycling: Thank you St. Agnes!! In the year 2010, the PTO received $776.20 for the recycling bins in the parking lot!! Our numbers continue to go up!! Thank you for all the support of our school and our environment!! If you or someone you know has a company that would like to support St. Agnes and the environment...we can place recycle dumpsters on their premises and get the credit! If you know someone that has a printing company, prints newspapers or just uses a decent amount of paper, please let us know!! We make $5 per ton for every 0-3.99 tons, $15 per ton for 4-7.99 tons, and $20 8+ tons!! We are on track for another GREAT year!! Keep it up St. Agnes!!

365 Lotto: Congratulations to all the April 2011 lotto winners. Here is a link to see all the winners. Be sure to look at the $500 winner whose ticket was drawn for April 24, Easter.

Summer Theater Camps: Notre Dame Academy is holding three sessions of Theater Camp this summer. Singers, dancers and actors who wish to have a fun time and learn the basics of putting on a performance are welcome to attend. The camps are geared toward boys and girls ages 3rd grade thru high school. Space is limited, so please get your registration forms in early. Cov Cath Colonels 5th/6th Grade Football Signups: Signups for Cov Cath 5th/6th grade football will be Sunday, April 17 from 2 - 5 pm in the Cov Cath school cafeteria. Boys who attend any grade school of the Diocese of Covington and who will be in the 5th and 6th grade in the fall are eligible to play. Signups will include equipment sizing and fees. Around Our School

Did you know…St. Agnes had a total of six students who attended the Kentucky State Science Competition held at Eastern Kentucky University on Saturday, April 2? Skyler Koch won a special, “Taking the Pulse of the Planet Award”, from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Another eighth grader won the first place award in Engineering and Transportation. Congratulations to all who participated!!!

Did you know…sixth graders will be doing the Stations of the Cross for the school, parents, and parishioners on Wednesday, April 20th at 1:30? Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Did you know…fourth and fifth graders are playing “¡Pesca!” or Go Fish! in Spanish class to learn vocabulary.

Did you know…the 8th graders have been covering WWII in social studies? After researching various topics, Mrs. Wainscott in computer class was able to demonstrate for them how to use ‘Prezi,” a new and exciting way of putting their researched material on the SMART board. They have put together excellent Prezi presentations using slides, pictures and video. Ask your eighth grader to show you their Prezi!

Did you know…seventh graders are dissecting starfish! Ask them about the circulatory system; and what they found in place of blood!
