Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes Elementary School strives for excellence in providing a Catholic education that inspires and empowers our students to live the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ as compassionate and faithful Christians, who continue to pursue their spiritual journey, their highest academic potential, and stewardship to others.

This Friday is Grandparents Day! We have a wonderful program scheduled for our student's grandparents. If your child does not have a grandparent able to attend they may have a "special" guest like someone who has been like a grandparent to them or a parent. Permission forms were sent home on Monday with students. If your child has permission to leave with their grandparents, that form MUST be signed and returned to their homeroom teacher by tomorrow. For the sake of traffic flow during dismissal on Friday, I would like to request anyone picking up at the regular time (2:45 p.m.) please wait to arrive in our car line until at least 2:40 p.m. This will allow time for our students dismissing with grandparents to exit the parking lot first. I would encourage grades 6-8 grandparents to arrive by 12:00 noon in the gym. Grades K-5 grandparents may arrive by 12:30 p.m. and go straight to their grandchild's homeroom. We look forward to seeing all of our grandparents on Friday! ~ Mr. Hoyt

Grandparents Day Schedule: Our annual Grandparents Day will be held this Friday, April 28. Here is a schedule for the afternoon. Please note that grandparents may be able to take children home when the program has ended WITH a signed permission form from a parent or guardian. Permission slips were sent home on Monday and must be returned by Thursday, April 27, if you want your child to leave with their grandparents.
12:00-12:30 p.m. - Grandparents may begin arriving. Grades 6-8 students will meet their grandparents in the gym at this time before the students go to lunch at 12:30.
12:30-1:00 p.m. - Grandparents in grades K-5 will go to student classrooms.
1:00 p.m. - Grandparents go to gym for entertainment.
1:15-2:00 p.m. - K-8 Entertainment in gym
2:15 p.m. - Students may be dismissed with grandparents if they have a signed permission slip.

Saint Agnes Spirit Wear Day Thursday: Tomorrow, April 27, is a Saint Agnes spirit wear day. Students may wear a Saint Agnes spirit wear top with uniform bottoms, including uniform or gym shorts.

Summer Math Program: Saint Agnes School will participate in a summer learning program for 2017-18 second through eighth grade students. Our staff has focused our efforts this year to improve our Math skills.  Many of you have heard of our Response to Intervention (RTI) program that your child may have participated in, and to keep up with the strides made in this program we are going to introduce the students to Khan Academy. Today in kid mail a letter and step-by-step enrollment packet will be coming home with current second through fourth grades. First, fifth and junior high students will be added in days to come. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Jacobs at

Fidget Spinners: There is a new gadget that is very popular with young people today. They are called "fidget spinners" or "fidget cubes." We have seen a lot around school recently and they can pose as distractions to student learning. Parents, please be advised that students should not bring "fidget spinners" or "fidget cubes" to school unless they are provided an accommodation with such items on an individualized learning plan (ILP). They can be confiscated if they are found at school. Thank you for your attention to this.

Yearbooks: Don't forget that the deadline to order a 2016-2017 school yearbook is this Friday, April 28. Send in the order form to the school office or order online at, using yearbook ID code 1928017. Yearbooks will be printed and then distributed at the start of next school year.

Lunch 'n Learns: The LAST Lunch 'n Learn is May 8! Please help us by providing lunch for the teachers during their monthly Lunch 'n Learns. What are Lunch 'n Learns? Saint Agnes Computer/Technology Coordinator and Guru, Christina Woolley, will be holding monthly meetings during lunch to keep teachers updated on the latest technology trends. There are about 30-35 teachers in all. We are asking for (at least) two volunteers for each category of food listed. The food would need to be delivered to school by 10:30 a.m. the morning of the scheduled meeting. Thank you!!1655628/false/false
