Mission Statement of Saint Agnes School
Saint Agnes School exists to provide excellence in Catholic education while inspiring and empowering our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. As compassionate and faithful Christians, we continue to pursue our spiritual journey, achieve our highest academic potential, and be stewards of the Catholic faith to others.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
As you know, one of the biggest challenges facing parents today is monitoring internet safety and screen consumption for our children. We have been fortunate to have Steve Smith speak to our students and parents in previous school years about internet safety. Mr. Smith will be returning to Saint Agnes to speak with students on April 4 and he will do an encore presentation for parents on April 10 at 7 p.m. During the parent presentation, Mr. Smith will discuss the following topics: how we have become a distracted society, consequences of sending inappropriate images, how privacy does not exist, and how social media and video games impact mental health. All parents are invited to attend the presentation and their children will be rewarded with an out-of-uniform day if at least one parent attends. One of my favorite bloggers, Tim Elmore, has recently posted these blogs about video game consumption and preventing a negative social media impact. ~ Mr. Hoyt
Spirit Wear Day Tomorrow: Tomorrow, March 28, is a Saint Agnes spirit wear day. Students may wear their Saint Agnes spirit wear. Gym shorts and sweats are also permitted. Please remembert that pajamas are not acceptable spirit wear attire.
Out-of-Uniform Collection Day Next Thursday April - Baseball Theme: Tomorrow is Opening Day! We will celebrate this Greater Cincinnati tradition next week with another collection day for the SND Uganda Mission on Thursday, April 4. Students may wear their favorite baseball team apparel. If a student does not have the apparel they may wear their favorite team's colors or their favorite colors. Students should bring in at least $1 to donate to the SND Uganda Mission for this out-of-uniform day next week. To date, we have collected over $1600 for the mission. Our goal is to collect $3000 so we can pay for five students' tuition at St. Julie Primary School in Uganda.
Board of Total Catholic Education Parent Survey: As a reminder to the email that was sent out yesterday, the Saint Agnes Board of Total Catholic Education's Annual Parent Survey is now available to be completed. The purpose of the survey is to gain insights and feedback directly from parents regarding their child(ren)'s education, faith formation, and overall school experience. We urge all families to take about 10-15 minutes to complete the survey. Participation and feedback from you is vital to continue to improve our school. The survey is open for approximately two weeks and may be found here.
School Yearbooks: Last week each student received an order form to purchase a school yearbook. If you would like to order one, return the order form or order online by April 17. Be sure to make checks payable to Saint Agnes or use the following link: ybpay.lifetouch.com (code 1928019). Yearbooks will be given to the students when we return to school in August.
Art Supplies Needed: If you have paint stir sticks or old scratched/unwanted CD's laying around, Mrs. Eckerle’s art classes could use them for painting projects. Please have your child drop them off in the art room. Thanks!
Lunch 'n Learn: The last Lunch 'n Learn for our faculty is April 8. Please help us by providing sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts. These monthly meetings help our teachers stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends. There are about 30-35 teachers in all. The food would need to be delivered to school by 10:30 a.m. the morning of the scheduled meeting. Thank you for your help! http://signup.com/go/svTMBCR
ColorCycle: Don't forget that Saint Agnes is participating in the Crayola ColorCycle Recycling program. This program collects used markers and recycles them. You can send in ANY brand used markers (highlighters and dry erase included) to the collection box located in the first-floor hallway near the art room. We will count and collect the markers and send them to be recycled in April. Thank you!
Cafeteria: Attached here is the April school lunch menu.
Saint Agnes Fish Fries: Come join us for this week's fish fry on Friday, March 29. This is our last fish fry for the season. We will have WGRR 103.5 at the fish fry this week from 5-7 p.m. While they are there they will be taking donations for St Vincent DePaul if you would like to donate items. We still have space available for workers. We will have basketball on the big screen! Come out for the best fish sandwich in the area and stay for the fellowship.
