FROM THE PRINCIPAL
On this Ash Wednesday, we enter the Lenten season. We tell our students that this is a great time to reflect on our relationship with God, with our neighbors, and with ourselves, and make some changes in our attitudes, speech, or actions in order to become better Christians. This is a great time to “retreat” to determine how we can come closer to God. I look forward to our prayer “retreats” like our 6th grade commemoration of the Stations of the Cross and the 8th grade performance of the Passion Play. I also look forward to the Lenten practice of giving alms through our collections for the Sisters of Notre Dame Uganda mission. It is our goal to once again provide a year’s worth of tuition for five students at St. Julie School in Buseesa, Uganda. We look forward to growing in our relationships with God this Lenten season. ~ Mr. Hoyt
Lent: We have many things planned to make this a great Lent. As part of our almsgiving project, we will be collecting money to cover tuition for five students to attend St. Julie’s School in Uganda. Students can bring in donations on Thursdays during Lent and students can pay at least $1 to be out of uniform on our themed out of uniform dates: March 14th- St. Patrick’s theme, March 21st - March Madness theme and April 4th - baseball theme. Students will also begin each day with a Lenten challenge that will be given on the morning announcements. We will be creating a prayer chain in the cafeteria and will have Stations of the Cross hanging in the school hallways for classes to visit. We will also pray the Stations of the Cross on April 10th at 1:45 in the church. The Passion Play will be on April 17th at 1:45 in the church. Join us in making this a prayerful season.
