Welcome to Mrs. Smith's the Grade Religion Class!!! 

 

I feel honored to be able to pass on our Catholic faith to your child. Our textbook, Blest Are We, is new. The  main focus in the text is about the Old Testament. Each chapter in this book follows the same outline.

First, there is a pre-chapter Take Home page for parent and student. This preview summaries the content of the chapter.The backside explains the scripture passages from this lesson.

The lessons are color coded.

Lesson 1: The presentation of doctrine begins on the 1st day ,Share Day, which is color coded green. The students will be asked to reflect on an experience, story or activity.

Lessons 2&3: Hear & Believe, which is color coded red, begins with a scripture story and a doctrinal statement. This is followed by an application of the doctrine to life in the Church.

Lesson : The Respond pages,which are blue, provide stories of saints and other holy people who have lived their faith in accordance to the Church. This section ends with a prayer celebration.

Lastly, Chapter review/Test

Along with our textbook we will have: 

*Daily prayer

*Angel stories

*Friday Mass in which you are always welcome

*Spiritually adopt a child, which mean we pray daily for a baby who is in endanger of abortion

*Gratitude journals

*Simple meditation

*Sacrament of Reconciliation, in Advent and Lent

*Follow and celebrate the liturgical calendar
